Southern Alberta Freestyle Ski Club (SAFSC) is actively seeking an individual who is a positive and approachable leader with a passion for Freestyle Skiing. Working alongside our coaching roster, with a focus on informing and educating members of our club, with a common goal of aiding athlete development. “Southern” focuses on creating an atmosphere for safe and exciting training and inspires athletes to compete to the best of their ability in all freestyle skiing disciplines, creating skiers for life!

Role of Jumps and Bumps and Freestylerz Coordinator:
Planning and Scheduling Coaches:
Lead on-snow activities of Jumps and Bumps coaches. Schedule weekly coaching roster for training and competitions throughout the on snow season. Encourage the coaching staff to devise daily goals for their groups on snow. Supervise coaches in assigning athletes to appropriate groups. At the beginning of the season, assist coaches in creating sample CFSA Lesson Plans. Mentor coaches, lead by example and assist Program Director in professional development of SAFSC Jumps & Bumps and Freestylerz Coaches.
Emergency Action Plan Awareness:
Review SAFSC Safety Reference Manual with head coach at the start of the season. Including Emergency Response Procedure and Emergency Action Plan.
Submit a Program Report:
Submit a monthly program report to head coach who will present to Board of Directors providing an overview of progress and a coaching update.
Communication:
2016/17 Letter of Introduction to parents of athletes in Jumps and Bumps and Freestylerz. Weekly email sent to SAFSC Jumps & Bumps and Freestylerz members, including but not limited to: event updates, invites, registration, reminders of club policy and processes, overview of training at Sunshine Village, volunteer opportunities and current events in Canada freestyle. Assist head coach with social media, including frequent posts and updates from SAFSC Jumps & Bumps and Freestylerz program.
Maintain on-snow presence at Sunshine Village on Saturdays throughout the season, communicating directly with parents within Jumps and Bumps and Freestylerz program. Address inquiries about the club, assist head coach in facilitating new athletes prior to/throughout on-snow season.
Communicate as needed (via Email, Phone and In-Person) with parents under the parameters of NCCP Long-Term Athlete Development, CFSA Athlete Pathway and SAFSC Parent and Athlete Code of Conducts.
Goal Setting:
Effective use of CFSA resources, working with Jumps & Bumps and Freestylerz coaches to ensure periodic reporting to athletes and parents take place using CFSA booklets.
Year-end Event:
Leading, alongside head coach, the year-end: Annual Moustache Olympics-Big Mountain Challenge by planning and communicating with coaches and parent volunteers through various stages of the event.
